Our First Christmas and His First Christmas

So, it's been a while since I've updated my blog. Yes, I know...slacker. Here is the update in a nutshell. We had our baby girl on October 8th. She was heavy and long. She is still heavy and long being in the 95 percentile for her age. She's a true Stone! We still live in Tempe and are still looking to move out to North Carolina in June. I'll write more about those things as the time draws nearer and as I get back into blogging.

With having our little Hannah this year, God has given me such a different perspective on this season. Think about it. God came to earth as a little baby. Totally helpless. Totally dependent on someone that He created. He had poopy diapers. He was fed by a woman that He created to function the way that she did. It's all just amazing! What humility He showed by coming to earth. It just shows that this plan of salvation was not made up by any human. I know that I would have done it differently if it were up to me to save man. Thank goodness it's not up to me! How great is this God that I serve! How great is His love that He should come to earth to save a wretched sinner like me! It just blows me away!

Remember to think on the true meaning of Christmas as you are opening your Christmas presents and spending time with family this holiday season. Take some time this year to thank Him for the gift that He is!

Mold and Moving

Today is one of the hardest days to date. And yet, I can always sense when we are being prayed for. How? In the midst of insurmountable circumstances, I am calm. My depression hasn't kicked in. My heart still has such great hope that things will all turn out. Promises from God's word are readily on my lips. It may seem chaotic, but there is calm in the middle of the storm. That is how I know people are praying. That is how I hear, see, feel God near. I am so sure that there are a thousand other ways that He is. That's just my finite view. Today, we had to get rid of a ton of stuff. I went into today so hopeful that we would get to keep so much stuff and it didn't end up that way. It made so much more sense to get rid of a ton. I am a bit in shock right now to be honest. It is hitting me that so many sentimental things are gone. I don't honestly know what is kept and what got thrown away. Our heart for Moses' heart

The month of January, 2016…aka the month of challenge, or maybe we should call it the month of change. So much has happened to our family this month that we are living in survival mode. You know, I really wish that I was more consistent at blogging. I wish that every time I updated this wasn’t because we were in some sort of crisis. But, I’m not going to cry too much over that failure. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Back to the reason for this post. On December 31 st at 10:40pm, we had the privilege of having Ivory Rose Stone join our family. What a joy it has been to have a little teenie, tiny baby around again.
